Air Cargo and Mail Security Course
In accordance with ICAO’s objective to support Member States in meeting their obligations for civil aviation security under the Chicago Convention, and to promote the strengthening of aviation security worldwide, I am pleased to inform you that ICAO’s Air Cargo and Mail Security Course has been enhanced, re-developed and being offered at the ICAO ASTC Johannesburg, South Africa, from 24 to 28 March 2025.
This five-day course, which will be delivered in English, is scheduled daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Johannesburg time. It is designed to enable the participants to integrate knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) into the context of their designated role in their organization as part of a national responsibility to secure air cargo and mail against acts of unlawful interference, through the application of the relevant competencies and in accordance with Annex 17 – Aviation Security and the ICAO Aviation Security Manual (Doc 8973 – Restricted).
A fee of US $500.00, or the equivalent amount in local currency, will be charged to each selected participant to cover basic administration costs. Airfare, hotel and miscellaneous expenses are the responsibility of State. Participants are required to have their own medical insurance to cover costs, should any arise, as these expenses are not reimbursed by ICAO.
